Nine SMA single phase inverters were wired in groups of three to produce 208 three phase power. Multiple inverters eliminate any single point of failure and Tigo optimizers deliver granular on line monitoring.
University of the Virgin Islands, St. Thomas Campus
Combined Solar Hot Water and Chiller Waste Heat Recovery System. The system was installed on a new 52 room student dormitory built in 2013. The system consisted of 320 ft2 of thermal collection area, a drain back solar hot water system with 600 gallons of hot water storage.
University of Virgin Islands, St. Croix Campus
Solar Hot Water System for Cafeteria and Lecture Hall. The cafeteria system replaces two 80 gal. thermosiphon solar hot water systems with a pumped solar thermal system, 240 gallons of storage, and 128 ft2 collector area. A separate Llecture Hall system replaced two failing 80 gallon conventional electric water heaters with two 80 gallon solar thermal systems and solar circulation pumps.
Virgin Islands Housing Authority (VIHA) Calabash Boom Housing Project, St. John, VI
Solar Hot Water Systems. Solar Delivered installed 25 individual solar hot water systems for VIHA’s affordable housing project, Calabash Boom, on St. John USVI. Each system consisted of an 80 gallon storage tank, a 32 ft2 collector, and a PV driven circulation pump. The project was delivered on budget and ahead of schedule.
Virgin Islands Housing Authority Louis E. Brown Housing Project Phase 1 and Phase 2
Solar Hot Water Systems. Solar Delivered installed 107 individual solar hot water systems in phase 1 and as additional 52 units in phase 2. The solar hot water systems serviced residential apartments and all laundry facilities.
Virgin Islands Department of Labor – Solar Hot Water Training Course
Solar Delivered worked with the Virgin Islands Department of Labor and the St. Croix Technical Education and Career Center to create a solar hot water training program. Solar Delivered was contracted to provide the training and graduated 30 solar hot water installation technicians. Graduates of the program installed over 500 solar hot water systems in the territory over the next year.
Sand Castle on the Beach Hotel
55 KW Net Metered System. The system utilized four different structures and replaced a 5 KW system that had been installed 10 years earlier. Five SMA TriPower 480 volt inverters were used with Tigo optimizers. The optimizers were used to not only provide granular level monitoring but as well to compensate for multiple roof orientations and angles.

Carambola Golf Club Microgrid
Designed a 77 kKW Renewable Energy Microgrid. Solar Delivered designed a 77 kKW renewable energy microgrid with 250 kWwh of lithium battery storage and two 30 KW propane generators for emergency backup. In addition, Solar Delivered prepared the application package for the project to receive a USDA REAP grant that will provide 25% of the capital cost and a government loan guarantee for their lender. The project is expected to be installed during the summer and fall of 2016.
